Configuring DVBViewer alongside the DVBViewer Media Server (DMS) transforms your PC into a high-performance digital TV streaming hub. This combination allows you to distribute live cable, satellite, or terrestrial television flawlessly across your local home network or even over the internet.
Follow this structured blueprint to establish a stable, stutter-free digital TV stream. Step 1: Establish the Server Hardware and Core Decoders
For smooth playback, you must first optimize your server-side environment and hardware detection.
Install Decoders: Download and install LAV Filters on your server machine. DVBViewer relies on external filters to handle video and audio streams correctly.
Run a Manual Hardware Scan: Launch DVBViewer, navigate to Options →right arrow
Hardware, and click Scan Devices. This ensures all your physical DVB-S/C/T tuners or CI modules are correctly mapped.
Set DMS Start Type: Open Windows services (services.msc), find the DVBViewer Media Server entry, and change its properties to Automatic (Delayed Start). This prevents startup conflicts by ensuring all network drivers and tuners initialize fully before the streaming service begins. Step 2: Decouple DVBViewer from Direct Hardware
The most common mistake is allowing the local DVBViewer software to access your TV tuners directly while trying to stream. To share your TV signal perfectly, the Media Server must maintain exclusive hardware control. Open DVBViewer Pro on your server PC. Navigate to Help →right arrow Media Server Wizard.
